What Palo Alto Networks currently sets

The current Network Security Professional blueprint is dated June 2026. Palo Alto Networks also updated its certification FAQ in July 2026, which fixes the seat time, delivery method, exam format, price tier and retake policy.

Written to the June 2026 blueprint

The current certification covers the Palo Alto Networks network-security portfolio rather than one firewall product. The official target audience includes people who install, deploy, operate or administer NGFW products, Cloud-Delivered Security Services, SASE products and management platforms such as Strata Cloud Manager.

The June 2026 blueprint also includes current platform topics that older material can miss: Next-Generation Trust Security, quantum-security risk and AI-related security risk sit inside the 30% Platform Solutions, Services, and Tools domain.

These practice tests keep the long-form paper fixed at 100 questions. That is a practice-test design choice, not a claim about the live exam's unpublished question count. It makes the six published weights map cleanly to 17, 13, 30, 10, 17 and 13 questions.

The certification was renamed from Network Security Generalist to Network Security Professional on 30 May 2025. The current June 2026 datasheet uses the Professional name throughout.
Inside a test

A fixed paper makes your next score worth comparing

The live exam uses scaled scoring and Palo Alto Networks does not publish a fixed question count. These practice tests solve a different problem: give you the same workload, the same domain mix and a fresh set of questions each time.

How it's built

  • 100 questions in every test
  • Exact 17 / 13 / 30 / 10 / 17 / 13 domain counts
  • 92 single-answer questions
  • 8 clearly marked choose-TWO questions
  • Questions mapped to the June 2026 objectives

Under the clock

  • 90 minutes from start to finish
  • About 54 seconds per question if you spread time evenly
  • The 30-question Platform Solutions domain is the biggest time block
  • Choose-TWO items are scored all-or-nothing in the practice bank
  • No loose domain sampling from one paper to the next

What the review teaches

  • Every question includes a written explanation
  • The explanation states why the keyed answer fits the requirement
  • Plausible wrong answers are addressed, not just dismissed
  • Questions carry domain and objective metadata behind the bank
  • A miss tells you what to study, not just that you missed
A real question from the bank

The useful part is why the tempting answer loses

This question comes from the current Network Security Professional practice bank. The stem asks for the next troubleshooting step, not a definition.

Domain 4 · NGFW and SASE Solution Maintenance and ConfigurationMediumSingle answer

A new Prisma Access remote network shows an established IPSec connection but cannot reach its intended private application. What should the administrator check NEXT?

  • AWhether Advanced WildFire has generated a verdict for the branch tunnel
  • BRouting and application authorization for the branch-to-private-resource path
  • CWhether a URL category was created for the private IP address
  • DWhether branch users can establish GlobalProtect tunnels to the same Prisma Access location before examining site routing

Why B

An established site tunnel proves only one part of connectivity. Routing and Security policy still have to permit the intended branch-to-private-application path.

Why D is tempting

GlobalProtect is another remote-access component, so it looks related. A branch remote network does not depend on a per-user GlobalProtect tunnel for the site connection, which means that check moves away from the actual path in the scenario.

All six domains, at the published weights

Platform Solutions, Services, and Tools is 30% of the exam score, nearly twice either 17% domain. The practice papers keep that difference visible instead of flattening every domain to the same number of questions.

Questions

About the exam, then about these tests

The Network Security Professional exam

What score do you need to pass a Palo Alto Networks certification exam?

Palo Alto Networks uses a scaled score from 300 to 1000. The converted passing score for all current Palo Alto Networks certification exams is 860. It is a scaled score, not a fixed percentage-correct target.

How long is the Network Security Professional exam?

The current certification FAQ sets total seat time at 90 minutes. Candidates testing in non-English-speaking countries receive a 30-minute English-as-a-second-language extension by default.

How many questions are on the live exam?

Palo Alto Networks does not publish a fixed question count for this exam in the current June 2026 Network Security Professional datasheet or July 2026 certification FAQ. The practice tests on this page use a fixed 100 questions so the six published domain weights map exactly to whole-question counts.

What question types does Palo Alto Networks use?

The current certification FAQ lists multiple-choice and multiple-select multiple-choice items. These practice tests use 92 single-answer questions and 8 clearly marked choose-TWO questions per paper.

How much does the Network Security Professional exam cost?

The July 2026 Palo Alto Networks certification FAQ lists Professional-level exams at US $200. Network Security Professional is in that Professional tier.

Can I take the exam remotely?

No. Palo Alto Networks currently delivers certification exams in person at Pearson VUE testing centers. The July 2026 FAQ states that remote testing is no longer offered.

What is the retake policy after a failed attempt?

The wait is 15 days between the first failed attempt and the second attempt, 30 days between the second failed attempt and the third attempt, then 90 days between the third failed attempt and every later attempt.

How long is the certification valid?

Two years from the date you pass. Palo Alto Networks requires recertification by examination. Earning a higher-level certification in the same track can automatically extend active lower-level certifications by two years.

Was Network Security Professional previously called Network Security Generalist?

Yes. Palo Alto Networks renamed the Network Security Generalist certification and exam to Network Security Professional effective 30 May 2025. The current June 2026 blueprint uses the Professional name.

These practice tests

How many questions are in each full-length practice test?

100 questions with a 90-minute timer. Every paper uses the same six-domain allocation: 17, 13, 30, 10, 17 and 13 questions.

Do the tests include choose-TWO questions?

Yes. Each test contains 92 single-answer questions and 8 clearly marked choose-TWO questions. The choose-TWO items are scored all-or-nothing.

Where do the questions come from?

They are original questions written against the June 2026 Palo Alto Networks Network Security Professional blueprint. The bank does not reproduce live certification exam questions.

Does every question have an explanation?

Yes. Every row in the practice bank includes an explanation. The worked sample above shows the style: why the correct option fits, then why a plausible alternative fails.

Are the ten tests built to different blueprints?

No. All ten use the same six-domain counts and the same 100-question length. That gives you a cleaner comparison from one paper to the next.

Is this a subscription?

No. You pay once for the single test, five-test pack or ten-test pack.

Ready for a full benchmark?

Ten tests. 1,000 questions. $26.99₹799£21.49€24.49.

The official Professional-level exam fee is US $200. Use the long papers to find the weak domain while the cost of being wrong is still a practice-test result.
