Written to the current exam guide

The current guide centers on five jobs: configuring access, securing communications and boundaries, protecting data, managing security operations, and supporting compliance requirements.

It also reflects the product language Google uses now. That includes controls such as Workforce Identity Federation, Privileged Access Manager, Cloud NGFW, Sensitive Data Protection, Confidential Computing, Binary Authorization, Security Command Center and security controls for Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.

The practice bank keeps the same five-section proportions in each 60-question set: 15 / 13 / 14 / 11 / 7 questions.

Inside a test

Two hours of cloud-security decisions, not definition recall

The live exam is aimed at experienced practitioners. These sets do the same thing: give you a requirement, several plausible Google Cloud controls, and force the best implementation choice while the clock is running.

How it's built

  • 60 questions in every full-length practice test
  • 15 / 13 / 14 / 11 / 7 questions across the five sections
  • 10 easy, 28 medium and 22 hard items per set
  • Current Google Cloud product names and exam-guide taxonomy

Under the clock

  • 120-minute practice window
  • 56 single-answer questions
  • 4 clearly marked Select TWO questions
  • Select TWO items are scored all-or-nothing

What you review

  • A keyed correct answer for every question
  • Two-to-four-sentence explanation on every row
  • Reasoning that separates the key from the tempting distractor
  • Objective, difficulty and section metadata behind the bank
A real question from the bank

The wrong answer should solve a nearby problem

This item comes from the current practice-test bank. The choice turns on where the control operates, not on recognizing a product name.

Section 2 · Boundary protectionSingle answerEasy

An internet-facing application behind a supported external load balancer is experiencing SQL injection probes. Which control BEST provides managed web-application filtering at the edge?

  • AApply only a VPC firewall egress rule to the backend instances.
  • BCreate a Private Service Connect endpoint for the public clients.
  • CApply Cloud Armor with the appropriate preconfigured WAF rules.
  • DEnable Cloud NAT logging on the backend subnet.

Why C

Cloud Armor can inspect HTTP requests and apply managed WAF protections before traffic reaches the backend.

Why A looks plausible: a VPC firewall is a real network control, but it works at the network layer and does not provide managed SQL-injection signatures.

Blueprint weighting

Every 60-question set follows the current five-section split

Configuring access is the largest section at about 25%. Supporting compliance requirements is the smallest at about 11%. The bank converts those published weights into exact per-test counts.

SectionOfficial weightQuestions per 60-question test
1. Configuring access~25%15
2. Securing communications and establishing boundary protection~22%13
3. Ensuring data protection~23%14
4. Managing operations~19%11
5. Supporting compliance requirements~11%7

Google publishes section weights as approximate percentages. The 15 / 13 / 14 / 11 / 7 practice-test split is the bank's fixed 60-question implementation of that blueprint.

Questions

About the certification exam, and about these practice tests

The Google Cloud exam

How many questions are on the Professional Cloud Security Engineer exam?

Google currently lists 50–60 multiple-choice and multiple-select questions in a two-hour exam.

What score do I need to pass?

Google does not provide candidates with a numerical score. The exam result is pass or fail, because the certification exam is designed to determine whether you meet the minimum passing standard rather than rank performance on a numerical scale.

How much does the certification exam cost?

The registration fee is $200 USD, plus tax where applicable, as checked on 28 September 2026.

What experience does Google recommend?

Google recommends more than three years of industry experience, including more than one year designing and managing solutions using Google Cloud. There are no formal prerequisites.

What are the current exam sections?

Configuring access (~25%), Securing communications and establishing boundary protection (~22%), Ensuring data protection (~23%), Managing operations (~19%), and Supporting compliance requirements (~11%).

How long is the certification valid?

Professional Google Cloud certifications are valid for two years. For Professional certifications, the exam-based renewal window opens 60 days before the certification becomes inactive.

If I fail, when can I retake the exam?

For Associate and Professional exams, you can retake after 14 days following the first failed attempt. After a second failure the wait is 60 days; after a third it is 365 days. The limit is four attempts within a two-year period, and each attempt requires payment.

Can I take the exam online?

Yes. Google Cloud certification exams are delivered through Pearson and can be taken either at a test center or online using Pearson OnVUE.

These practice tests

How many questions are in each practice test?

Each full-length practice test contains 60 questions and runs on a 120-minute limit. The ten-test pack contains 600 questions in total.

Do the tests follow the current Google Cloud blueprint?

Yes. Every 60-question set uses the fixed 15 / 13 / 14 / 11 / 7 section split derived from Google's current ~25 / ~22 / ~23 / ~19 / ~11 exam-guide weighting.

Do the tests include multiple-answer questions?

Yes. Each set contains 56 single-answer questions and 4 clearly marked Select TWO questions. Select TWO items are scored all-or-nothing.

Are explanations included?

Yes. Every question includes a keyed answer and a two-to-four-sentence explanation that covers why the correct choice fits and why a plausible distractor does not.

Do these tests use a Google passing score?

No. Google does not publish or provide a numerical certification-exam score, so these practice tests do not claim to reproduce one.

Is this a subscription?

No. Each test or pack is a one-time purchase.
