SC-300: Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Practice Test

Use nine free SC-300 practice tests to find weak areas across Microsoft Entra identity and access administration. Each short test has 20 questions and a 40-minute timer. When you need a full benchmark, the 50-question practice tests run for 100 minutes and follow the April 27, 2026 skills outline.

Mixed-set SC-300 practice tests

Five 20-question sets spread practice across all four current skill areas. Use these first. They show whether the same Microsoft Entra decisions keep catching you across different topics.

Twenty questions finds the gap.
Fifty questions tests whether the fix holds.

The free sets are built for diagnosis and focused practice. The full-length SC-300 tests are the next step: 50 questions in 100 minutes, six Select TWO questions, the same four-area allocation in every set, and an estimated 1–1000 practice score using 700 as the benchmark.

How to use these tests before exam day

Use the short tests to diagnose. Save the longer runs for the point when you need to test pacing, decision quality and consistency across the whole outline.

1

Benchmark with mixed sets

Sit two or three mixed tests before changing your study plan. Look for the skill area that repeatedly costs you marks.

2

Drill the weak area

Move to the matching skill-area test. Review the control, policy or workflow behind each miss, then retest after revision.

3

Run the full benchmark

When the short sets stop exposing obvious gaps, move to 50 questions under a 100-minute clock. That is where pacing and close Microsoft Entra choices start to matter.

About the Microsoft SC-300 exam

SC-300 earns the Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate credential. Microsoft’s current English skills outline took effect on April 27, 2026.

What SC-300 measures

The role centers on designing, implementing and operating identity and access management with Microsoft Entra. That includes identities for users, devices, Azure resources and applications, along with authentication, authorization, governance, monitoring and troubleshooting.

Microsoft expects familiarity with Azure, Microsoft 365 services and workloads, Active Directory Domain Services, PowerShell and Kusto Query Language.

Exam format

Exam code: SC-300.

Assessment time: 100 minutes.

Passing score: 700 or greater on Microsoft’s scaled scoring system.

Delivery: Proctored through Pearson VUE. Interactive components may appear.

Question count: Microsoft does not publish a guaranteed fixed number for SC-300.

Eligibility and renewal

Prerequisite exam: None is listed.

Recommended background: Azure, Microsoft 365, AD DS, PowerShell and KQL.

Retakes: 24 hours after the first failed attempt, then 14 days between later attempts. A maximum of five attempts is allowed within 12 months from the first attempt.

Renewal: The associate certification renews every 12 months through a free online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn.

SC-300 skill weights — April 27, 2026 outline

Microsoft publishes ranges rather than one fixed percentage for each skill area. Authentication and access management carries the largest range.

Skill areaTopicMicrosoft weight
Skill 1Implement and manage user identities20–25%
Skill 2Implement authentication and access management25–30%
Skill 3Plan and implement workload identities20–25%
Skill 4Plan and automate identity governance20–25%

How the SC-300 practice tests are written

Current objective language. The question sets use the April 27, 2026 SC-300 skill outline and current Microsoft Entra terminology.

Scenario first. The useful SC-300 question is rarely “what does this feature mean?” It gives you a requirement, a constraint and several plausible controls. Your job is to choose the one that satisfies all three.

Short tests for diagnosis. The free 20-question sets are designed to expose gaps quickly. Mixed sets spread practice across the outline; skill-area sets narrow the focus after you know where the problem is.

Full-length tests for consistency. Each paid test uses 50 questions in 100 minutes with a fixed 12 / 14 / 12 / 12 allocation. The blueprint stays the same across all ten, so your later scores are easier to compare with earlier ones.

SC-300 exam preparation tips

Study strategy

Build a Microsoft Entra lab. Create users and groups, work with administrative units, configure authentication methods, test Conditional Access and set up app registrations. Reading the portal is not enough.

Know why one control wins. PIM, access reviews, entitlement management, Conditional Access and authentication policies often solve related problems. Learn the boundary between them.

Use the logs. Spend time with sign-in logs, audit logs, Identity Protection and KQL. Troubleshooting is part of the role, so expect questions where the evidence matters more than the feature name.

Test-taking strategy

Find the constraint before the answer. Device state, app scope, user risk, least privilege and lifecycle timing often decide which otherwise-correct option is best.

Separate registration from enforcement. Microsoft Entra questions often place authentication-method configuration beside Conditional Access. One changes what users can register or use; the other decides when access is granted.

Use the clock deliberately. A 100-minute assessment gives you room to reason, but long scenarios can still absorb it. Move when you are stuck, then return with time left.
